Why "Le Fontanelle"...

Whoever visits Rome is impressed by the numerous of monumental fountains and imposing hydraulic structures which together with the large amount of water present in the area, have always been a feature of the urban and suburban landscape.
Ancient Rome celebrated the pleasure and curative benefits of water with beautiful fountains and nymphaea, as well as public bath. This dedication to water was maintained until modern times.

Since 1874, due to Rome’s rapid growth, small fountains, made of cast iron, were installed down town and in the growing suburbs, giving birth to the “nasone” style fountain.

Le FONTANELLE B&B” is called after the almost 2000 Nasoni, that the traveller could still find at any corner, slaking his thirst with cool water during roman walks.
